Mobile App - Admin Guide - Community Feed

Overview

The Community Feed allows both club administrators and members to make posts, comment, and like existing posts to encourage communication around the club.

Required Permissions

  • Administrators

  • Members with web account.


Accessing the Community Feed

Contact Clubessential Support to get the Community Feed added to your club’s app. Once added, there will be a link available within the main app menu as well as the quick menu if desired. The link can be titled something specific to meet your club’s branding.

Community Guidelines

Community guidelines must be accepted by members in order to use the Community Feed. Members will only be presented with the guidelines one time. At any point in the future, the paper icon can be selected to review the guidelines once more. The guidelines are completely customizable by each club using the Mobile App Admin Dashboard.

To update:

  1. While logged into the website, use the grey admin bar and underneath the communication heading, select Mobile App Admin Dashboard.

  2. Within the left-hand column, select Community Feed.

  3. Here the following settings can be updated for the Community Feed:

    1. Community Guidelines Title - Click into the box and update the guidelines text if desired.

    2. Community Guidelines Text - Click into the box and update any text as needed.

    3. Emails For All Post Notifications - Enter an email address to receive notifications whenever a new post is made. Multiple email addresses can be added.

    4. Email For Post/Comment Reports - Enter an email address to receive notifications whenever a member reports a post or comment. Multiple email addresses can be added.

  4. Once finished, select Save.

General Navigation

  • Posts are displayed in order of newest to oldest. The most recent posts will always be on top. Next to each posts are ellipsis that when pressed present the following options:

    • Admins - Use the ellipsis to Delete any existing post.

    • Members - Use the ellipsis to Report any post. Reporting a post will notify any email address added in the Community Feed settings within the Mobile App Admin Dashboard.

  • Select the smiley face icon to like a post or comment.

  • The Filter can be used to search for a specific post.

    • Select Filter and a slide out search bar will appear.

    • Tap the magnifying glass and type in text and then select Search For Posts.

    • NOTE: This will search the content of all posts, not the titles.

  • To view existing comments or to add a new comment, tap add comment.

    • Comments are displayed oldest to newest. The oldest comment will always be on top.

    • Like Posts, comments can be liked by tapping the smiley face icon.

    • Also like posts, the ellipsis can be used to delete or report a comment. (depending if the user is an Admin or Member)

    • To add a new post, simply tap in the box that says Add Comment. Type the comment and then press the arrow to add.

Adding A Post

  1. To add a new post, select the large plus sign at the bottom of the Community Feed.

  2. Simply type in a message and then select Post. (NOTE: Posts and Comments are limited to 4k characters)

  3. Admins have additional options when creating a post:

    1. Attach a photo - Use the camera icon to add an image to the post. There are two options when adding an image:

      1. Choose From Photo Library - Search the device’s images for a picture to add.

      2. Take Photo - Use the device’s camera to take a new picture.

    2. Adding a hyperlink - Hyperlinks of various types can be added to posts. This is great for advertising upcoming events or other Club functions. Various types of links can be added:

      1. Events - Selecting events will present a list of the next 2 months of upcoming events to choose from. Simply tap Select to add.

      2. News - Selecting news will display active articles. Simply tap Select to add a link to the article directly.

      3. URL - The URL tab provides the ability to use any hyperlink. Simply tap URL and then paste in the desired link.
