Overview

  • This guide will help the user when creating a new Area Layout for one of the club’s dining locations. Learn how to name a layout and configure table and seat settings.

Required Permissions

  • POS Module Access

  • Add/Edit/Delete Area Layout


Accessing the Tool

To create/edit an Area Layout in CMA:

  1. Select the POS module located in the lower left of CMA.

  2. Select Edit Area Layout.

  3. Select New to create a new layout or double click an existing layout to edit.

Creating a New Layout

Area Layout Properties

The area layout Properties Tab allows the user to name the layout and establish layout settings. Options include:

  1. Name.

  2. Back Color (background color of layout).

  3. Blink after last (table will blink in the POS when last item is sent).

  4. Blink in minutes.

  5. Course Colors (table till change colors depending on which course the table is on. Club must have coursing enabled in Area).

Toolbox

The Toolbox tab contains all the types of items that can be drawn onto an area layout. Options currently include:

  • Pointer - Used to move and size items on the grid.

  • 4 Square - Adds a four seat square to the layout.

  • 8 Seat Rectangle Hzt - Adds a horizontally positioned 8 seat rectangle to the layout.

  • 8 Seat Rectangle Vrt - Adds a vertically positioned 8 seat rectangle to the layout.

  • 10 Seat Rectangle Hzt - Adds a horizontally positioned 10 seat rectangle to the layout.

  • 10 Seat Rectangle Vrt - Adds a vertically positioned 10 seat rectangle to the layout.

  • 2 Round - Adds a round 2 seat table to the layout.

  • 4 Round - Adds a round 4 seat table to the layout.

  • 6 Round - Adds a round 6 seat table to the layout.

  • 8 Round - Adds a round 8 seat table to the layout.

  • 10 Round - Adds a round 10 seat table to the layout.

  • 12 Round - Adds a round 12 seat table to the layout.

  • 14 Round - Adds a round 14 seat table to the layout.

  • 16 Round - Adds a round 16 seat table to the layout.

  • 4 Half Round Top - Adds a 4 seat half round table top top.

  • 4 Half Round Bottom - Adds a 4 seat half round table bottom oriented.

  • 4 Half Round Left - Adds a 4 seat half round table left oriented.

  • 4 Half Round Right - Adds a 4 seat half round table right oriented.

  • Object - Allows the user to add a non-interactive object to the layout. Used for room landmarks like divider walls, terrace locations and Host station.

  • Seat - Used to show visible seats around a table. When naming a seat, only 1 number 1 seat and be used.

    • Note: It is recommended to name seats with the table number included. For example: if the table number is 235, seat 1 should be named 235-1.

  • Diamond - Places a diamond shaped table on the layout.

Adding Items to the Layout

When creating a new table layout for your dining areas it is best to try to mirror the actual layout of the room. This will be used for visual reference when assigning members and guests to their table.

To add a new table to the Layout:

  1. Select the tool box tab.

  2. Choose the table type and seat number for the table if not adding individual seat icons around the table.

  3. Click on the layout grid where you would like the table to be and while holding in the mouse, draw the table to the desired size and shape. (Square can be used to make rectangles and Round can be used to make ovals).

  4. Repeat this step or use Copy and Paste until the desired number of table have been created.

  5. Save and Close.

Table Properties

After drawing out your tables, you will need to name the table (number) and configure how the table will react within the POS. Table properties include:

  • Name - Typically clubs will assign a table number as the table name.

  • Object Color - Allows you to color coordinate your tables.

  • Seats - This option cannot be changed, it displays how many seats this table selection has.

  • Style - Can swap table style between the existing table options (square, rectangle, diamond, round, half round).

  • Text Color - Change the text display color for the table number here.

If you are wanting to build out individual seats around the tables, you can choose seat from the toolbox and orient the seats as seen in the dining area. Seat properties include:

  • Name - Typically clubs will assign a seat number that includes the table number.

  • Object Color - Allows you to color coordinate your seats to match the tables.

  • Seats - This option cannot be changed.

  • Size - Used to manually apply size changes to the seat. Allows for easier sizing that the drawing option.

  • Style - Can swap table style between the existing seat options.

  • Text Color - Change the text display color for the seat number here.

Object Properties

After drawing out an object as a reference for a room landmark you can name and set the color to the object. Properties include:

  • Name - Name the room landmark so staff will know what this object references.

  • Location - instead of dragging to move the object, you can enter grid coordinates to easily relocate the object.

  • Object Color - Set the landmark color.

  • Seats - Cannot be altered, landmarks will not have seats.

  • Size - Instead of manually adjusting the object size using the cursor, set the size here.

  • Text Color - Apply the text color that will display in the POS.

Assigning Area Layout to an Area

Once the table layout has been created, you will need to assign it to your Area. Please see the Manage Areas guide for steps on applying your new layout to an Area.
