Important Notification: October 2023 CMA/POS Update for Onsite Servers

Table of Contents

Overview

  • Clubessential is committed to ongoing product improvement, and we are making significant updates to the Clubessential Club Management Application (CMA) and Classic Point of Sale that require a one-time uninstall and reinstall. Changes are being made to the installation process that improve security and ensure that the automatic updates of the application continue as expected. Additionally, the CMA and Classic Point of Sale applications are being upgraded from 32-bit applications to 64-bit applications, which allows them to leverage more memory and should improve performance overall. This update does not impact Mobile Point of Sale, and no action is required for devices running MPOS.

Required Permissions

  • Uninstall/Install rights to the PC that you are performing the uninstall/install on.

What will happen if I do not take any action?

If the uninstall/reinstall is not completed, you will no longer receive automatic updates with new features, fixes, and other changes, and could potentially result in issues when using the application in the future. Additionally, starting on Wednesday, October 25th, you will begin to receive an update pop-up prompt each time you login to the application that will continue until the update has been completed.

FAQs

  • Q.  Do I need to do this for all Point of Sale terminals and computers at the club?

    • A.  Yes, the uninstall/reinstall process needs to be done on every machine that either CMA and/or Point of Sale are currently installed on.

  • Q.  What if I do not have access to the Uninstall/Change Program option?

    • A.  You will need to contact your IT company to access this or have them complete this process.

  • Q.  Is internet access required?

    • A.  Yes, since the new installation and automatic update process are now web-based, all devices/machines will need internet access to properly update. We recommend speeds of at least 50 Mbps to allow for a timely download.
