Office - IT - Installing & Logging Into the Citrix Workspace App
Overview
This guide will demonstrate how to download the Citrix Workspace App on both Windows and MAC as well as the steps to setup with app on your workspace.
Please Note: Citrix does require Two Factor Authentication (2FA). This is either a separate app on a mobile device or a browser extension like Google Authenticator in Chrome. This should be enabled before getting started on this process.
Required Permissions
Admin access to install software on device
Access to two factor authentication app or chrome extension (Required for initial set up and every subsequent log in.
Download & Install Citrix
Clubessential uses the Citrix Workspace App, a cloud-hosting service that allows secure remote access to our Clubessential Office (CMA) application from anywhere. You will first log in to the Citrix Workspace, and then you will log in to Clubessential Office.
For Windows
From any web browser, navigate to Download Citrix Workspace App for Windows. and select Workspace App for Windows Current Release to select the current version of the Citrix Workspace App.
Click on the Download File button.
After the file is downloaded, locate the CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe file. Right click on it and run as administrator.
Click Start.
Checkmark Enable App Protection.
Click Install.
Click Finish once the installation completes.
You must restart your computer to complete the install. Select Yes to restart your computer.
For MAC
From any web browser, navigate to Download Citrix Workspace App. Scroll to the Workspace App for Mac dropdown and choose the newest version.
Click on the Download File button.
After the file is downloaded, locate the CitrixWorkspaceApp.dmg file and run it. Select Install Citrix Workspace and then click Allow.
On the Introduction page, click Continue.
On the License page, click Continue.
Click Agree to accept the terms of the License Agreement.
On the Installation Type page, click Install, then click Continue and then Close.
Locate Citrix Workspace in Finder/Applications.
Click Cancel on the Add Account screen.
Note: If planning on using multiple devices
Logging into Citrix
Navigate to https://clubessential.cloud.com.
Authenticate on the login screen by entering the domain credential provided by Clubessential; entered as follows: domain\username and password.
*Example: cecloud\cmatest1
Please note: Click here for instructions to enable two-factor authentication within Citrix.Click Detect Workspace.
Check Always allow clubessential.cloud.com to open links of this type in the associate apps and then click Open Citrix Workspace Launcher.
You are now logged into the Citrix Workspace app. You will use this app to access your Clubessential Office application (CMA). If you are ready to access your Clubessential Office application (CMA), please follow the steps below for logging into CMA.
Logging into CMA from the Citrix Workspace App
From the main Citrix Workspace web page, click the drop down for Apps and then click All Apps and then click Clubessential Office to open the application.
You will immediately be taken to the Clubessential Office authentication screen. Your username and password will be different than what you used to login to the Citrix Workspace web page. Your Club Admin would have provided you with these credentials. Enter your Username and Password and click Login.
Identifying Citrix Version
From your desktop, right click on the Citrix icon and select Advanced Properties.
This will create a pop up window with the advanced properties. The About section is at the bottom of the window. Here you can find your current version number.
Best Practices
You can add Clubessential Office to your “Favorites” within the Citrix Workspace app for easy access. Click the empty star icon in the upper left hand corner of the Clubessential Office application to favorite it.
Make sure to save all your working documents before restarting your computer during install.
When logging out you will want to log out of both Clubessential Office and log out of the Citrix Workspace.
Please Note: This closes out the session, but it is important to keep in mind the session may still be active for several minutes in the background. Once you've closed out of Citrix, you'll want to wait several minutes before attempting to log back in, this will assure the network has completely ended the session.
